Westchester County Police are once again hosting a fun-filled Cops & Cones event in the heart of Mount Kisco’s downtown.

This year’s event will be held Thursday, Aug. 31 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the parking lots on South Moger Avenue adjacent to the Mount Kisco Metro-North station. Free ice cream and inflatable amusements will be available. A variety of Westchester County Police equipment, including the department’s helicopter and specialized vehicles, will be on display along with fire apparatus from the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department.

Public Safety Commissioner Terrance Raynor said, “The Westchester County Police have the privilege of providing municipal police services to the people of Mount Kisco. The annual Cops & Cones event enables us to give back to the community and strengthen the relationship between our officers and the people they protect.”

Raynor thanked Mayor Gina Picinich, the Board of Trustees, the village manager’s office, the Mount Kisco Highway Department and the Mount Kisco Fire Department for their assistance in planning and holding the event. The commissioner also said he was grateful to the many local businesses whose generous support makes Cops & Cones possible.

Mount Kisco Mayor Gina Picinich said, “Cops and Cones, facilitated by the WCPD and the Village, and funded by local businesses, is a beloved event which builds and extends relationships across the community. This year the Mount Kisco Fire Department is incorporating their Touch-a-Truck event which will provide even more activities for families to enjoy.  Thank you to the WCPD for their continued partnership and for keeping our community safe.”

Raynor said Cops & Cones would not be possible without the generous sponsorship and participation of numerous business and community organization, including major sponsors such as A&S Marketplace, Darcars Automotive Group, Diamond Properties, Grand Prix New York, Mount Kisco Chevrolet, Mount Kisco Fire Department, Sky Zone Mount Kisco, Village/Town of Mount Kisco, Wayne’s World Motor Sports, Westchester County Police, Westchester County Police PBA, Bareburger, Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home, Foresight Affordable Housing, Pinecrest Manor, Key Bank Mount Kisco, Mosner Family Brands, Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Rivera Toyota and Westchester County Sheriff’s Association.

The rain date is Friday, Sept. 1.
